Side Trim






Side Trim

Removal and installation are same for right and left.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Pry Lever (80 - 200)





Removal





- Remove the sill panel strip. Refer to => [ Sill Panel Trim ] Trim.

- Remove rear shelf. Refer to => [ Rear Shelf ]. Rear Shelf

- Remove the speaker trim side trim. Refer to => [ Speaker Trim ]. Speaker Trim

- Remove the C-pillar trim. Refer to => [ C-Pillar Trim ]. C-Pillar Trim

- Remove the rear bulkhead end trim. Refer to => [ Rear Bulkhead End Trim ]. Rear Bulkhead End Trim

- Press the pin - 5 - out with a screwdriver and remove the expanding clip - 6 -.

- Remove screws - 2 - and - 3 -.

- Unclip the side trim - 1 - with the pry lever (80 - 200) - arrows - and remove.

- Remove the belt anchor. Refer to => [ Belt Anchor ] Service and Repair.

- Thread the belt webbing - 4 - with the seat belt latch through the belt extraction panel.

- If applicable, disconnect the treble speaker electrical connector.

- Versions with a rear lid release switch: disconnect the connector on the rear lid release switch found on the driver side.

Installation

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

If the trim clips stay in the body mounting points, remove them and insert them in the trim.

Check the clips for damage or deformation and replace them if necessary.

- Thread the belt webbing with seat belt latch through the belt extraction panel.

- Install the belt anchor. Refer to => [ Belt Anchor ] Service and Repair.

- Position the side trim with the centering pin and press it into the body mounting points until the clips engage audibly.

- Stretch the door seal lip over the side trim.
