Trim

Cable Operating Lever

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim Removal Wedge (3409)





Removal





- Release the engine compartment lid.

CAUTION!
When removing, pry the operating level horizontally out of its mount.

The mount can be damaged if the actuating lever is pulled out at an angle or tilted. Replace the mount if it is damaged.

- Pry the operating lever horizontally out of its mount - arrow - with the (3409).

Installation





Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Check if the stop bracket - 1 - is secured with the lower A-pillar trim bolt - 2 -.

- Press the operating lever horizontally into the mount until it engages audibly.

Lower A-Pillar Trim

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim Removal Wedge (3409)





Locking Pin (T40011) (quantity: 4)





Removal





- Remove the sill panel strip from the sill panel in the transition area to the lower A-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Sill Panel Trim ].

- Remove the instrument panel side cover. Refer to => [ Instrument Panel Side Cover ] Instrument Panel.

- Press the pin - 3 - out with the (80 - 200) and remove the expanding clip - 4 -.

Driver side:

- Versions with a cable operating lever: remove the operating lever and screw - 1 - on the lower A-pillar trim and remove the stop bracket. Refer to => [ Cable Operating Lever ].

Passenger side:

- Remove the glove compartment trim. Refer to => [ Glove Compartment Trim ] Service and Repair.

- Unclip the lower A-pillar trim - 2 - with the (3409).

Procedure for both sides of vehicle:

- Disengage the lower A-pillar trim - 2 - at the instrument panel bracket - arrow - and remove downward from the upper A-pillar trim.

Installation

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

If the trim clips stay in the body mounting points, remove them and insert them in the trim.

Check the clips for damage or deformation and replace them if necessary.

- Slide the lower A-pillar trim into the upper A-pillar trim and engage it on the instrument panel bracket.

- Stretch the door seal lip over the trim.

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Lower A-Pillar Trim Assembly Overview ] Interior Trim Overview.

Driver Footrest Cover

Removal





- Remove the driver side instrument panel cover. Refer to => [ Driver Side Instrument Panel Cover ] Service and Repair.

- Remove bolts - 1, 2, 3 -.

- Slide the footrest cover - 4 - up - arrow - until the tab disengages from the footrest bracket opening.

- Remove the footrest cover.

Installation

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Make sure the tab engages correctly in the footrest bracket opening.

- Make sure the spring nut is seated correctly on the footrest bracket.

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Driver Footrest Assembly Overview ] Interior Trim Overview.

Driver Footrest Bracket

Removal





- Remove the driver side footrest cover. Refer to => [ Driver Footrest Cover ].

- Fold the floor covering back in the footrest area.

- Remove the nut - 1 -.

- Remove the bolts - 2 and 3 - and the footrest bracket - 4 -.

Installation

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Driver Footrest Assembly Overview ] Interior Trim Overview.

Passenger Footrest

Removal





- Remove the floor mat and fold the cover - 3 - up - arrow -.

- Remove the bolts - 1, 2 and 3 - and the footrest.

Installation

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Passenger Footrest Assembly Overview ] Interior Trim Overview.

Passenger Footrest Bracket

Removal and installation is the same on the tunnel and wheel housing side.

Removal





- Remove the passenger side footrest. Refer to => [ Driver Footrest Cover ].

- Fold the floor covering back in the footrest area.

- Remove the bolts - 1 - and the footrest bracket - 2 -.

Installation

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Passenger Footrest Assembly Overview ] Interior Trim Overview.

Sill Panel Trim

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Trim Removal Wedge (3409)





Removal





- Disengage the sill panel strip at the lower A-pillar trim.

- Unclip the sill panel strip from the sill panel with the (3409) beginning at the front - arrows -.

- Unclip the sill panel strip at the side trim and remove it.

Installation

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

If the trim clips stay in the body mounting points, remove them and insert them in the trim.

Check the clips for damage or deformation and replace them if necessary.

- Install the sill panel strip until the clips engage audibly and stretch the door seal lip over.

Cover

Removal and installation are same for right and left.

Pry Lever (80 - 200)





Removal





The illustration does not show the seat.

- Move the seat as far forward as possible and fold the backrest forward.

- Remove the expanding clip - 2 - with the (80 - 200).

- Raise the back of the cover - 1 - and pull it back.

If the cover cannot be removed like that, remove the seat rail bolt.

Installation

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order.

Floor Covering

Pry Lever (80-200)





Removal

The following information describes removal of both the left and right floor coverings.

Each side can be removed separately though.

- Remove seat:

Manual seats, refer to => [ Seat ] Manual Seats.

Power seats, refer to => [ Seat ] Power Seats.

- Remove rear shelf, refer to => [ Rear Shelf ] Interior Trim.

- For the driver side floor covering, remove the driver side instrument panel cover, refer to => [ Driver Side Instrument Panel Cover ] Service and Repair.

- Remove center console:

Rear, refer to => [ Rear Center Console ] Center Console.

Front, refer to => [ Front Center Console ] Center Console.

- For the driver side floor cover, remove the accelerator pedal module.

- Remove the sill panel strip, refer to => [ Sill Panel Trim ].

- Remove lower A pillar trim, refer to => [ Lower A-Pillar Trim ].

- For the driver side floor covering, remove the driver side footrest, refer to => [ Driver Footrest Cover ].

- For the passenger side floor covering, remove the passenger side footrest, refer to => [ Passenger Footrest ].

- Remove the belt anchor, refer to => [ Belt Anchor ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the cover, refer to => [ Cover ].

- Remove the expanding clips - 1 and 3 - with the (80 - 200).





- Pull the floor covering - 2 - back.

Make sure the floor covering does not tear at the openings.

- Fold the floor covering lengthwise and remove it through a door.

Installation

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Fold the new floor mat lengthwise and place in vehicle.

- First slide the floor covering all the way forward until the accelerator pedal module and footrest openings align.

- Install the expanding clips.
