STEERING COLUMN: STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

STEERING COLUMN: STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY






(a) Align the matchmarks on the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly and the steering column assembly.
(b) Install the bolt.
Torque: 35 Nm (360 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
2. INSTALL STEERING SLIDING YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY






(a) Align the matchmarks on the steering sliding yoke sub-assembly and the No. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly.
(b) Temporarily install the bolt.
HINT: Torque the bolt after connecting the steering sliding yoke sub-assembly to the power steering link assembly.

3. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY






(a) Install the steering column assembly with the 4 nuts.
Torque: 26 Nm (260 kgf-cm, 19 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the connectors and wire harness clamps to the steering column assembly.






(c) Install the clamp to the steering column hole shield.
4. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING Installation

5. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR DUCT






(a) Engage the 2 claws to install the No. 1 air duct.
6. CONNECT STEERING SLIDING YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

7. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
HINT: Refer to the instructions for Installation of the driver side knee airbag assembly Installation.

8. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
9. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY






(a) Install the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly to the steering column assembly with the clamp.
(b) Connect the connectors to the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.
10. INSTALL TILT AND TELESCOPIC SWITCH Installation

11. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER






(a) Engage the 4 clips and 2 guides to install the upper steering column cover onto the instrument panel cluster finish panel.






(b) Engage the claw to install the upper steering column cover.






(c) Engage the 2 claws to install the lower steering column cover.
NOTICE: Do not damage the tilt and telescopic switch.





(d) Install the 3 screws.
Torque: 2.0 Nm (20 kgf-cm, 18 in-lbf)
12. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE Installation

13. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Installation

14. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT
15. INSTALL STEERING PAD Installation

16. INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER Installation

17. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Installation

18. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
- Reset the auto tilt away function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column System.

19. INSPECT STEERING PAD Installation

20. REGISTER ECU CODE
NOTICE: When replacing the steering lock actuator assembly, perform initialization Engine Immobilizer System.

21. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT Diagnosis System.
