SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
(a) Check that the engine switch is off.
(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Connect the driver side knee airbag connector to the driver side knee airbag assembly.
NOTICE: When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.





(d) Temporarily install the driver side knee airbag assembly with the 2 pins.






(e) Install the driver side knee airbag assembly with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)






(f) Install the hood lock control cable with the claw.

3. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

4. INSTALL SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH Installation

5. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH Installation

6. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Installation

7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

8. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
(a) Inspect the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
