Left Exhaust Manifold

Removing

• During installation, all cable ties must be installed at the same location.

- Remove the noise insulation - 1 - and - 2 -.






- Remove the ribbed belt from the A/C compressor. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.

- Remove air conditioner compressor.






- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the heat shield - 1 -.






- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the left drive axle heat shield.






- Remove the left drive axle from the transmission flange shaft.






The decoupling elements in the front muffler could be damaged.

• Do not bend decoupling element in front muffler more than 10°.

- Loosen left clamping sleeve - 1 -, slide back and tie up the left front muffler.






• Ignore - 2 -.

- Remove the bolt - 1 - and the nuts - arrows - and then push the left catalytic converter to the rear.






- Remove the - 2 - Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 (G108) connector from the bracket, disconnect it and free up the wire.






• Ignore - 1, 2, 3 and 4 - and - arrows -.

- Remove the nuts - arrow - and free up the coolant pipe on the wiring harness.






- Disconnect the connector - 1 -.






- Remove the bolt - 2 - and move the coolant reservoir, with the coolant hoses - arrows - still connected, to the side.

- Loosen the fasteners - 1 - and - arrows - and remove the heat shield from the left longitudinal member.






- Remove the bolts - 1 through 4 - and remove the heat shield.






- Remove the nuts - 1 - and - 8 - and the heat shield bracket.






- Remove nuts - 2 through 7 - and - 9 - and remove the exhaust manifold.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• Replace the seal and self-locking nuts.

• Coat the thread on the nut with hot bolt paste; for the correct hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog.

- Position the exhaust manifold with the catalytic converter seal and tighten the nuts. Refer to => [ Left Exhaust Manifold, Tightening Specifications and Sequence ] Exhaust Manifold Overview.






- Install the heat shield for the longitudinal member.

- Electrical connections and routing.

- Install the left catalytic converter. Refer to => [ Left Catalytic Converter ] Left Catalytic Converter.

- Tighten the drive axle on the transmission flange shaft.

- Install drive axle heat shield.

- Install the subframe heat shield.

- Install the front wheel housing liner.

- Install A/C compressor.

- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.

- Install the noise insulation.
