Sunroof Module Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the sunroof finishing lace. Refer to Sunroof Opening Trim Finish Lace Replacement (Service and Repair) .




2. It is only necessary to lower the headliner. Only do those steps in headliner replacement that will lower the headliner enough to gain access to the part. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (SUT) (Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (SUT))Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (SUV) (Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (SUV)) .
3. Remove the sunroof motor. Refer to Power Sunroof Motor Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the sunroof sunshade. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the sunroof glass panel. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
6. Disconnect the front drain hoses from the sunroof module. Refer to Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose Replacement (Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose Replacement) .
7. Disconnect the rear drain hoses from the sunroof module. Refer to Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose Replacement (SUT) (Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose Replacement (SUT))Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose Replacement (SUV) (Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose Replacement (SUV)) .
8. Remove the retaining nuts from the sunroof module rear brackets.
9. Remove the retaining bolts from the sunroof module.
10. With the aid of an assistant, remove the sunroof module assembly from the vehicle.
11. Remove the rear brackets from the sunroof module.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the rear brackets to the sunroof module.




2. Install the sunroof module assembly to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

3. Install the retaining bolts to the sunroof module.

Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

4. Install the retaining nuts to the sunroof module rear brackets.

Tighten the nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

5. Install the rear drain hoses. Refer to Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose Replacement (SUT) (Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose Replacement (SUT))Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose Replacement (SUV) (Sunroof Housing Rear Drain Hose Replacement (SUV)) .
6. Install the front drain hoses. Refer to Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose Replacement (Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose Replacement)
7. Synchronize the sunroof motor and module assembly. Refer to Sunroof Track Timing/Synchronization (Service and Repair) .
8. Install the sunroof glass panel. Refer to Sunroof Glass Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) .
9. Install the sunroof sunshade. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Replacement (Service and Repair) .
10. Verify proper operation of the sunroof.
11. Install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (SUT) (Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (SUT))Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (SUV) (Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (SUV)) .
12. Install the sunroof finishing lace. Refer to Sunroof Opening Trim Finish Lace Replacement (Service and Repair) .
