Ignition System: Service and Repair

Ignition Component Overview






1 Bolt

• 9 Nm

2 Camshaft Position Sensor (G40)

• Removing and Installing, refer to => [ Camshaft Position Sensor ] Service and Repair.

3 O-ring

• Always replace.

4 Knock Sensor

• Knock sensor 1 (right side), Knock sensor 2 (left side),

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Knock Sensor ] Service and Repair.

5 Bolt

• 20 Nm

6 Spark Plug

• 30 Nm

• Type and electrode gap. Refer to => [ Technical Data ] [1][2]Spark Plug.

• Remove and install using the spark plug removal tool (3122 B).

7 Ignition Coil

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Ignition Coil with Power Output Stage ] Service and Repair.

8 Bolt

• 5 Nm

9 Wiring Harness

10 Engine Speed Sensor (G28)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Engine Speed Sensor G28 ] Service and Repair.

11 Bolt

• 9 Nm

12 O-ring

• Always replace.

13 Camshaft Position Sensor 2 (G163)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Camshaft Position Sensor ] Service and Repair.

14 Bolt

• 9 Nm
