Removal (from 07/2011)





BRAKE SYSTEM (OTHER): BRAKE BOOSTER (for Hatchback): REMOVAL

NOTICE:
Release the vacuum from booster by depressing the brake pedal several times.

Then remove the brake master cylinder from brake booster.

1. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal (from 07/2011)

2. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (w/o Knee Airbag) Removal (from 07/2011)

3. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (w/o Knee Airbag) Removal (from 07/2011)

4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ Knee Airbag)

Removal (from 07/2011)

5. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

Removal (from 07/2011)

6. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

Removal (from 07/2011)

7. REMOVE PROPORTIONING VALVE ASSEMBLY (w/o ABS,VSC)

Removal (from 07/2011)

8. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/ ABS,VSC)

Removal (from 07/2011)

9. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 VENTILATOR SEAL





(a) Disengage the clamp and remove the front No. 1 ventilator seal.

10. REMOVE FRONT AIR SHUTTER SEAL RH

HINT
Use the same procedure as for the No. 1 ventilator seal.

11. REMOVE INNER COWL TOP TO COWL BRACE





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and the inner cowl top to cowl brace.

12. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL





(a) Disengage the 2 clamps and separate the wire harness.

(b) Remove the 8 bolts and the outer cowl top panel.





13. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS Removal (from 07/2011)

14. SEPARATE NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY Removal (from 07/2011)

15. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Slide the clip and disconnect the vacuum hose from the check valve.





(b) Remove the 4 nuts and brake booster assembly.





NOTICE:
Do not damage the brake tubes.

(c) Remove the gasket from the brake booster assembly.
