DESCRIPTION

The illuminated entry system controls the power switch illumination.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* Before performing the following inspection, check that the power switch illumination has not been turned off using the rheostat function.
* The power switch illumination can be turned off by using the rheostat knob to select the minimum illuminance level with the taillights on.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key / Active Test.

(e) Check that the illumination operates.

Smart Key





OK:

Power switch illumination comes on.

NG -- INSPECT POWER SWITCH

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Interior Lighting System

2. INSPECT POWER SWITCH

(a) Remove the power switch Removal.

(b) Inspect the power switch Testing and Inspection.

OK:

Power switch illumination comes on.

NG -- REPLACE POWER SWITCH Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SWITCH - CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY))

(a) Disconnect the I86 and I87 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

(b) Disconnect the I58 power switch connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) Removal
