1. REMOVE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION Removal
2. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Removal
3. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal
4. REMOVE NO. 3 CAMSHAFT Removal
5. REMOVE NO. 4 CAMSHAFT Removal
6. REMOVE CAMSHAFT Removal
7. REMOVE NO. 2 CAMSHAFT Removal
8. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (for Direct Injection) Removal
9. REMOVE NO. 1 VALVE ROCKER ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY Disassembly
10. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1)
(a) Remove the 3 bolt sand camshaft housing.
(b) Uniformly loosen and remove the 2 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.
(c) Using a 10 mm bi-hexagon wrench, uniformly loosen the 10 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration. Remove the 10 cylinder head bolts and plate washers.
NOTICE:
- Be careful not to drop washers into the cylinder head.
- Head warpage or cracking could result from removing the bolts in an incorrect order.
HINT: Be sure to keep the removed parts separate for each installation position.
(d) Remove the cylinder head.
11. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD GASKET (for Bank 1)
(a) Remove the No. 2 cylinder head gasket.
12. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2)
(a) Remove the 3 bolts and camshaft housing.
(b) Uniformly loosen and remove the 2 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.
(c) Using a 10 mm bi-hexagon wrench, uniformly loosen the 10 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration. Remove the 10 cylinder head bolts and plate washers.
NOTICE:

(d) Remove the cylinder head.
13. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD GASKET (for Bank 2)
(a) Remove the cylinder head gasket.
