Normal Operation
The convertible top switch supplies a ground signal for the front electronic module (FEM) on circuits 8-AG15 (WH/RD) and 10-AG15 (GY/RD). The FEM sends the signal to the rear electronic module (REM) over the standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication link. The REM grounds (using either circuit 10-AG24 [GY/OG] or circuit 8-AG16 [WH/BU]) the appropriate relay to direct power through the convertible top motor to raise or lower the convertible top. When the raise or lower relay is operating, the other relay remains in its normal state and supplies the motor/pump ground.
