Component Tests and General Diagnostics

1. Remove instrument cluster from vehicle.
2. Apply 12 volts to engine coolant temperature gauge "+" terminal and ground the "-" terminal.
3. Connect one lead of Rotunda instrument gauge system tester 021-00055, or equivalent, to temperature gauge "T" terminal and the other lead to "-" terminal.

Temperature Gauge Resistances.:

4. Adjust instrument gauge system tester to resistances shown.
5. If temperature gauge does not operate as specified, replace gauge. If gauge is within specifications, return to pinpoint test. [1][2]Component Tests and General Diagnostics
