A4 Check ABS Warning Lamp With Engine Running

- Start the engine.

NOTE: Certain ABS DTC's require that the vehicle be driven in order for the warning lamp to come on. Other DTC's will cause the lamp to turn on each time the engine is started.

- Drive the vehicle if necessary.

- Observe the anti-lock warning lamp.

- Does anti-lock warning lamp illuminate?

YES -- Indicates a present failure. Go to A5. A5 Perform ABS Trouble DTC Retrieval

NO -- Normal operation. If ABS symptom exists, there may be an intermittent problem. Go to A5. If no ABS symptoms exist, ABS system is operating normally.
