Latch Release Cable Adjustment RT/LT - Rear Compartment Lid

Adjustment Procedure

1. Park the vehicle on a clean, flat surface.
2. Open the rear compartment lid.
3. Lower the endgate.




4. Remove the lock cylinder latch plate cover. Refer to Lock Cylinder Latch Plate Cover Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Lock Cylinder Latch Plate Cover Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid) .




5. Release the retention clip on the release cables (1, 2).




6. Cycle the rear compartment lid latches closed.




7. With the retention clip released on the latch release cable (1), push the center upward to achieve a 1-2 mm (0.04-0.08 in) of clearance at the cable end.
8. Push the retention clip inward to save the adjustment.
9. Repeat the adjustment procedure for the other cable (2).





Important: The LH/RH latches should release at the same time. If the latches do not release at the same time, then repeat the adjustment procedure as necessary.


10. Cycle the release lever to release the rear compartment lid latches.
11. Install the lock cylinder latch plate cover. Refer to Lock Cylinder Latch Plate Cover Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Lock Cylinder Latch Plate Cover Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid) .
12. Close the rear compartment lid.
13. Close the endgate.
