Headlining Trim Panel Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Slide sunscreen all the way rearward.
2. Remove the sunroof selector knob, if equipped.
3. Remove the potentiometer by releasing tabs (push inward), if equipped.
4. Remove the dome and reading lamp (snap out).
5. Remove the electrical connectors from dome and reading lamp.
6. Remove the screws from sunroof actuator motor cover.
7. Remove the sunroof actuator motor cover, pull down and forward to release actuator motor cover from headliner.




8. Remove sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Sunshade Replacement).
9. Remove sunshade retainers. Refer to Sunshade Anchor Replacement (Sunshade Anchor Replacement).
10. Remove headliner opening finish molding (2) , start at opening of headliner finish molding and pull away from headliner.
11. Remove windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement (Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement) in Stationary Windows.
12. Position the front seats in the full recline position.
13. Remove center pillar upper finish panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement).
14. Remove roof rail courtesy reading lamps. Refer to Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
15. Remove rear window upper garnish molding.
16. Remove rear quarter trim upper finish panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement).
17. Remove headliner (1) through right rear door.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the headliner (1) through right rear door.
2. Install the rear quarter trim upper finish panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement).
3. Install the rear window upper garnish molding.
4. Install the roof rail courtesy reading lamps. Refer to Roof Side Rail Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
5. Install the center pillar upper finish panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement).
6. Position the front seats to their original position.
7. Install the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement (Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement) in Stationary Windows.
8. Install the headliner opening finish molding (2).
9. Install the sunshade retainers. Refer to Sunshade Anchor Replacement (Sunshade Anchor Replacement).
10. Install the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (Sunshade Replacement).




11. Install the sunroof actuator motor cover to the headliner.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

12. Install the screws to the sunroof actuator motor cover.

Tighten screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

13. Install the electrical connectors to the dome and reading lamp.
14. Install the dome and reading lamp (snap in place).
15. Install the potentiometer (snap in place), if equipped.
16. Install the sunroof selector knob, if equipped.
17. Close sunscreen panel.
