Transmission Cooler: Service and Repair






ATF pipes and ATF Cooler, Cleaning

Guidelines for clean working conditions when working on automatic transmission, refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

Hose diameter approximately 18 mm

Compressed air gun, commercially available

Protective goggles

Procedure

- Always blow out the ATF-cooler and ATF pipes before installing replacement transmission with an air pressure maximum of 10 bar.

- Place the (V.A.G 1782) under the transmission.

If extremely dirty ATF flows out when cleaning using compressed air, flush the ATF cooler and lines using clean ATF.
