Fluid Line/Hose: Service and Repair
ATF Pipes
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Engine Bung Set (VAS 6122)
Removing
• Guidelines for clean working conditions when working on automatic transmission, refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.
- Remove the noise insulation.
• Place a cloth underneath to soak up any escaping ATF.
- Remove the union nut - arrows -.
- Place the (V.A.G 1782) under the transmission.
- Mark the ATF pipe/hose line to the ATF pipe for reinstallation.
- Remove the bolts - arrow - and disconnect ATF pipes from the transmission.
- Seal any open lines and connections with a clean plug from the (VAS 6122).
Installing
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
• For the correct tightening specifications, refer to => [ ATF Pipe, ATF Cooler, and ATF Filter Overview ] Description and Operation.
There is a risk of damaging the transmission.
• Remove all the plugs on the ATF pipes and on the transmission that were installed during removal.
• The ATF cooling function will not work and the transmission will be damaged if the plugs are forgotten.
- Check the ATF level and correct if necessary. Refer to => [ ATF Level Checking, Draining and Filling Overview ] 0AW Continuously Variable Transmission.
