Luggage Compartment Side Trim Panel

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Pry lever (80 - 200)
Removing
- Remove wiring guide. Refer to => [ Wiring Guide ] Wiring Guide.
- Remove rear cross panel trim. Refer to => [ Rear Cross Panel Trim ] Rear Cross Panel Trim.
- Remove rear lid seal lip - 1 - in the area of the luggage compartment side trim.
- Pry off the luggage compartment side trim - 3 - using the pry lever (80 - 200) from the body - arrow A -.
- Open lock - 2 - and detach luggage compartment side trim at the tailgate hinge.
- Starting at the rear, push up the luggage compartment side trim, and remove side trim from the recess all around - arrows B, C, D -.
- Disconnect the connector.
- Pull back luggage compartment side trim to remove
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- Insert luggage compartment side trim in the recesses and press on it until it engages audibly.
- Fold the rear lid seal lip over the luggage compartment side trim.
Installation note: For example tightening specifications, replace components. Refer to => [ Luggage Compartment Side Trim Assembly Overview ] Luggage Compartment Side Trim Assembly Overview.

Risk of unintended engine start
For all work on high voltage vehicles, turn off the ignition and keep the key outside of the vehicle interior.
There is a risk of being electrocuted if high voltage components are damaged.
When working near high voltage components and wires, observe the following:
• Do not use cutting, deforming, sharp-edged tools or heat sources such as welding, solder, hot air or thermal glue.
• Perform a visual inspection before beginning any work in the area of high voltage components.
• Perform a visual inspection of the electric drive power and control electronics (JX1) , the vehicle electric drive (V141) , the A/C compressor (V470) and the high voltage lines when working in the engine compartment.
• Perform a visual inspection of the high voltage cable and the cover when working on the floor panel.
• Visually inspect the high voltage cables, the electronics and the high voltage system maintenance connector (TW) , when working in the luggage compartment.
• Perform a visual inspection of all of the potential equalization cables.
Note the following when performing a visual inspection:
• No components should show any signs of exterior damage.
• The high voltage cable insulation and potential equalization cable insulation must not be damaged.
• The high voltage cables must not be deformed in any way.
• Every high voltage component must be marked with a red warning label.

Removing
- Remove the luggage compartment liner => [ Audi A8 Hybrid ] Luggage Compartment Liner.
- Remove the cover from the traction battery (A2). Refer to => [ Traction Battery A2 Cover - Audi A8 Hybrid ] Traction Battery A2 Cover - Audi A8 Hybrid.
- Remove the rear cross panel trim. Refer to => [ Rear Cross Panel Trim ] Rear Cross Panel Trim.
- Remove the rear lid seal - 1 - near the luggage compartment side trim panel.
- Pry off the luggage compartment side trim - 3 - using the pry lever (80 - 200) from the body - arrow A -.
- Open lock - 2 - and detach luggage compartment side trim at the tailgate hinge.
- Starting at the rear, push up the luggage compartment side trim, and remove side trim from the recess all around - arrows B, C, D -.
- Detach the luggage compartment side trim panel on the rear lid hinge.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- Fold the rear lid seal over the luggage compartment side trim panel.
