Throttle Valve Control Modules

Removing

- Install the protective body covers. Refer to => [ Protective Body Covers, Installing ] Procedures.

- Remove the engine cover - arrows -. Do not jerk or pull to one side.





Right Throttle Valve Control Module (J338)

- Loosen the hose clamps - arrows - and remove the air guide hose.





- Move the air guide hose, with the crankcase housing ventilation hose - 1 - still connected, to the side.

Left Throttle Valve Control Module 2 (J544)

- Loosen the hose clamps - arrows - and remove the air guide hose.





- Move the brake booster air guide hose with the vacuum hose still attached - 1 - to the side.

Continued for Both Sides:

- Disconnect the connector - 1 -.





- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the throttle valve control module.

Installing

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Intake Manifold, Upper Section Assembly Overview ] Intake Manifold, Upper Section Assembly Overview and => [ Intake Manifold Upper Section
Tightening Specification and Sequence ] Intake Manifold, Upper Section Assembly Overview.

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

Replace the seals

The hose connections as well as the air guide pipes and hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model.

In order to be able to mount the air guide hoses on their connectors, spray the screws on the previously used clamps with a rust remover.

- After replacing, perform an adaptation in guided fault finding vehicle diagnosis, testing, and information system (VAS 5051B).
