Headlamp Bulb: Service and Repair

HID Headlamp Bulbs

CAUTION!
Risk of death due to high voltage, injury risk and environmental hazard.

• Headlamps must be adjusted after performing measures that could influence headlamp adjustment. Refer to => [ Headlamps, Checking and Adjusting ] Adjustments.

Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] Service Precautions.

Removing





- Remove headlamp. Refer to => [ HID Headlamp Housing ] HID Headlamp Housing.

- Remove bolts - 1 and 3 - and the HID headlamp housing cover - 2 - from the headlamp housing - arrow -.

- Disconnect electrical connector - 3 -.





- Release spring clips - 2 and 4 - and remove gas-discharge lamp - 1 - from housing.

Installing

• Tightening specification, refer to => [ Bi-Xenon HID Headlamps Assembly Overview ] Bi-Xenon HID Headlamps Assembly Overview.

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Insert the new HID bulb into the housing without touching the bulb with bare hands.

• Installation location. The electrical connection faces down.

- Secure gas-discharge lamp with spring clips.

- Connect electrical connector.

- Close the housing cover and tighten the bolts.

- Install headlamp. Refer to => [ HID Headlamp Housing ] HID Headlamp Housing.
