Fan Shroud: Service and Repair






Fan Shroud

Removing

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] Procedures.

- Remove the left front coolant pipes. Refer to => [ Left Front Coolant Pipes ] Left Front Coolant Pipes.

- Remove vibration damper. Refer to => [ Vibration Damper ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the tensioning element for the supercharger ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Supercharger Ribbed Belt Tensioner ] Supercharger Ribbed Belt Tensioner.

- Remove the air filter housing.

- Remove the left lower coolant hose from the radiator; to do this, lift the retaining clamp - arrow -.






- Remove the bolts - arrows -.






- Remove the coolant hose; do to this, loosen the hose clamp - 1 -.

The installation location is shown with the power steering pump removed.

Ignore - 2 -.


Risk of injury from coolant fan starting by itself.

Before working in the fan shroud area, disconnect electrical connectors.

- Disconnect the radiator fan connector - 1 -.






- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the fan shroud downward.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Radiator and Radiator Fan Overview ] Radiator and Radiator Fan Overview.

- Install air filter housing.

- Install the supercharger ribbed belt tensioner. Refer to => [ Supercharger Ribbed Belt Tensioner ] Supercharger Ribbed Belt Tensioner.

- Install the vibration damper. Refer to => [ Vibration Damper ] Service and Repair.

- Connect the coolant hose to the coupling. Refer to => [ Connect the Coolant Hose to the Coupling ] Radiator and Radiator Fan Overview.

- Install the left front coolant pipes. Refer to => [ Left Front Coolant Pipes ] Left Front Coolant Pipes.
