Timing Chain: Service and Repair






Camshaft chain

Operation number: 21504-2

Note! Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.






Removal

Remove the front crankshaft seal. Refer to: crankshaft front seal, B6324S Service and Repair.




Rotate the engine to the zero position.999 7257 Wrench 999 7257 Wrench

Remove the outer timing cover. Refer to: Outer timing cover gasket, B6324S Outer Timing Cover Gasket




Raise the tensioner's lock plate (1) slightly and press the tensioner together (2). Secure with a steel wire, drill or the like of - 2 mm in the tensioner hole (3).





Attach the following items:
- 999 7264 Counterhold 999 7264 Counterhold
- 999 7263 Counterhold 999 7263 Counterhold
- 999 7272 TORX 60 999 7272 Torx(R) 60





Installation








M7. Refer to Specifications, B6324S Tightening Torque





Attach the following items:
- 999 7264 Counterhold 999 7264 Counterhold
- 999 7263 Counterhold 999 7263 Counterhold
- 999 7272 TORX 60 999 7272 Torx(R) 60

Install the following items:
- Center screw, exhaust camshaft. Refer to Specifications, B6324S Tightening Torque
- Center screw, intake camshaft. Refer to Specifications, B6324S Tightening Torque

Install the outer timing cover. Refer to: Outer timing cover gasket, B6324S Outer Timing Cover Gasket.

Fit the front crankshaft seal. Refer to: crankshaft front seal, B6324S Service and Repair.
