Short-Circuit To Ground
Short-circuit to ground
Checking shift solenoid S2
- Ignition on.
- Gear selector in P.
Activate solenoid S2. Read off the status of the solenoid. The status should alternate between OFF / ON.
Does the status change?
Yes - Intermittent fault
No - Checking the signal cable resistance to ground in the transmission

- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the 6-pin transmission connector. For further information about the connectors, see Transmission connectors Transmission Connectors.
Connect an ohmmeter between the 6-pin transmission connector terminal 6 (transmission side) and ground.
The ohmmeter should read 12-18 ohms.
OK - Checking for a short-circuit
Not OK - Checking solenoid S2
