C16 Checking the Motor Windings In the Door
Switch ignition off.
Remove door panels from doors if reading is incorrect as per fault-tracing in step C15. C15 Checking Central Locking Windings at Door Posts
Loosen central locking module connector.
Connect an ohmmeter in the front doors between positions 4 and 5 of 6-pin connector male section.
Connect an ohmmeter in the rear doors between positions 1 and 2 of 2-pin connector male section.
Connect an ohmmeter to the trunk/tailgate;
4-door models: between positions 6 and 7 of central locking module 8-pin integral connector male section.
5-door models: between positions 1 and 2 of 2-pin connector male section.
Ohmmeter should read 1-15 Ohms in each case.
If all readings are correct:
Open-circuit in leads between connector in doorpost and central locking unit connector in door.
Correct fault or replace leads.
If any reading is incorrect:
Open-circuit or short-circuit in central locking module lead harness or central locking motor windings in central locking unit where meter showed incorrect reading.
Check for open-circuit(s).
Correct fault or install new central locking motor.
Replace central locking relay D/G and driver's door relay N.
