Accelerator Pedal: Service and Repair




Accelerator pedal mechanism, servicing




1. - Accelerator pedal cable mounting
- On bulkhead in plenum chamber
- Removing and installing refer to Fig. 1
2. - Accelerator pedal cable mounting
- On bulkhead
- Only on vehicles with manual transmission
3. - Retaining clip
- Only on vehicles with manual transmission
- Check if seated securely
- Secured behind bulkhead
4. - Retaining clip
- Only on vehicles with automatic transmission
- Check seated securely
- Secured before bulkhead
5. - Kickdown switch -F8-
- On bulkhead
- Checking, adjusting accelerator pedal cable on vehicles with automatic transmission, Adjustments
6. - Harness connector
- 2-pin black
7. - Accelerator pedal cable
- Adjusting, Adjustments
- Do not reuse damaged accelerator pedal cable, replace
8. - Accelerator pedal cable cam
- On throttle valve control module
9. - Retainer
- Adjusting accelerator pedal cable, Adjustments
10. - Support bracket
- For accelerator pedal cable
11. - Accelerator pedal
12. - Mounting bracket
- Removing and installing refer to Brakes and Traction Control.

Removing
- Turn accelerator pedal cable mounting approx. 90° anti-clockwise and remove from bulkhead in plenum chamber.

Installing
- Push accelerator pedal cable through bulkhead in plenum chamber (arrow -1-).
- Push accelerator pedal cable mounting into bulkhead and turn approx. 90° clockwise (arrow -2-).

- Letters "HHH" -1- are visible when installed in vehicles with manual transmission.
- Letters "AAA" -2- are visible when installed in vehicles with automatic transmission.
