Shift Cable: Service and Repair



Removal





1 Detach the battery leads and remove the battery.

2 Remove the battery tray.

3 Set the selector lever to neutral.

4 Detach the selector cable from the transmission.

5 Remove left-hand and right-hand side trim.

6 Remove the front air duct.

7 Remove the lower storage pocket.

8 Remove selector lever covers and release buttons.

9 Remove the gear indicator cover and unplug the indicator lamp.

10 Detach the gear selector cable from the gear selector bracket.

11 Remove the gear selector cable.

Fitting





1 Fit the gear selector cable with rubber grommet.

2 Fit the selector cable to the selector cable bracket.

3 Lightly lubricate the selector arm ball and fit the selector cable to the transmission.

Note: Do not lubricate the selector cable cup. If there is grease in the cup, the ball may become detached.

Rubber mounted selector cable is attached with clips.

Tightening Torque, Rubber Grommet: 8 ± 1 Nm.

4 Fit the gear indicator cover and indicator lamp.

5 Fit selector lever covers and release buttons.

6 Fit the storage pocket.

7 Fit the air duct.

8 Fit left-hand and and right-hand side trim.

9 Fit the battery tray.

10 Fit battery and leads.

11 Adjust the selector cable. Adjustments
