Shift Cable: Adjustments



Removing/Adjusting





1 Undo the two screws on the front of the selector lever and lift the handle from the rod.

2 Set the selector lever to position 1.

3 Undo the screw and remove the gear indicator cover.

4 Undo the nut on the front of the selector lever.

5 Set the transmission to NEUTRAL.

6 Set the selector lever to NEUTRAL and tighten the nut.

Tightening torque: 8 ± 2 Nm (5.9 ± 1.5 lbf ft)

7 Refit the gear indicator cover and check the position through the opening in the cover. There should be play in positions P and 1. If there is no play, adjust the position of the selector lever.

8 Check the adjustment of the selector lever cable in positions N and D. Play should be the same in both positions.

Fitting

Refit in reverse order.

Left-hand drive cars (LHD):
The plastic spacer which angles the selector lever towards the driver should be fitted on the right-hand side.

Right-hand drive cars (RHD):
The plastic spacer which angles the selector lever towards the driver should be fitted on the left-hand side.
