DTC 0E - Front Sensor Ground Resistance too High to Module

MALFUNCTION
DTC OE: System ground too high. This trouble code means that the ground resistance between the front sensors and the control module is too high.

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
1. Unscrew the steering wheel center pad (airbag module) and unplug the connector at the rear. Plug reference resistor 8471153 into the connector.
2. Unplug both connectors 57.
3. Check whether the pins are firmly located and in the right positions.
4. Plug in and unplug the connectors several times. Clear the trouble code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition switched ON. Check whether the trouble code persists.
If the trouble code persists - proceed to point 5.
5. Undo the front sensor retaining screws. Clean the contact surfaces between the sensor and the bracket on the car body, as well as the threads of the rivet nuts, using a wire brush or blunt thread tap. Do not use chemicals.
6. Lubricate the threads and cavities in the rivet nuts.
7. Lubricate the threads of new retaining screws and fit them in place.

NOTE: Use Saab lubricant, part No. (45) 30 07 309, Ford Motorcraft Silicone Dielectric Compound or any equivalent product having good conductivity and high viscosity.

8. Clear the code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition switched ON. How to Clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes
9. Check whether the trouble code persists.
If the fault persists - proceed to point 10.
10. Unplug and plug in connector 58 a few times.
11. Clear the code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition switched ON.
12. Check whether the trouble code persists. If the fault persists - proceed to point 4.
13. Undo the control module retaining screws.
14. Disconnect the extra grounding point on the bulkhead.
15. Clean the contact surfaces under the retaining screws (between the mounting holes for the control module and the mounting holes in the bracket) and the threads of the rivet nuts (on the bracket), using a wire brush or a blunt thread tap. Do not use chemicals.
16. Fit the retaining screws back in place, taking care to fit the two ground cable terminals on the right screws.
17. Clear the code and wait at least 40 seconds with the ignition switched ON.
18. Check whether the trouble code persists.
If the fault persists, try changing the control module. Before changing the control module, Programming and Relearning
