Front Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair

Window in front door
remove, refer to "Replacing Crank Window In Front Door".
Electrical connections on motor for electric window
disconnect.
Rivets (arrows) for fastening window lift mechanism to inner door panel
drill out (4 each), use 4.8 mm dia. drill bit.
Assembly hooks (A and B) for window lift on inner door panel
unhook.
Window lift
remove through installation opening.
Rivet residues
remove from window lift mechanism and from door shaft.
Reassemble
in opposite order. When rerivetting the window lift mechanism to the inner door panel ensure that the window lift mechanism is hooked into the inner door panel and makes full contact. Use pop rivet with shank diameter of 4.8 mm.
After installation
adjust window, refer to "Adjustment of Crank Window In Driver's Door". Adjustments

NOTE: The motor for the electrically operated window must be resynchronized (basic adjustment). For this purpose close window with electric window switch (not in automatic closing mode) and allow to run against stop for 1 - 2 s.


The motor for the electric window can be removed and installed without removing the window lift mechanism.
