Quarter Window Glass: Adjustments
Preliminary work:
Rear side wall panelling removed. Service and Repair
Exterior panelling on rear fender removed
Window in driver's door checked and adjusted. Adjustments
Cover (2) on installation opening
remove, install.
Sealing rail (1) on inside of window shaft
remove, install.
Screws (arrows) on window lift rail
loosen.
Height stop screw (arrow)
loosen.
Inclination and longitudinal direction of rear side window
adjust; the outer top edge of the glass should contact the outer sealing lip of the sealing frame over the entire length (arrows).
Front edge of rear side window
adjust so that it is parallel to the rear edge of the window in the front door.
Screws on window lift rail (arrows)
tighten through installation opening (2 each).
Height stop on rear window lift (arrow)
adjust so that the outer sealing lip of the sealing frame contacts the outer edge of the glass with a slight amount of tension when the rear side window is closed.
Rear side window
open and tighten center screw on window lift rail.
Pretension of rear side window and parallel position in window shaft
check, adjust, if required.
Adjustment screw at bottom of rear window lift
adjust as required, close opening in rear fender after adjustment.
Additional correction
is possible with the top mounting screws for the rear window lift (oblong hole).
Front sealing profile (4) on rear side window
adjust in relation to rear edge of window in front door (dimension b = 10 mm), for this purpose pull off inside cover (5) toward rear, loosen screws (3 each) and adjust sealing profile (4).
Screws (arrow) on bottom stop
loosen.
Rear side window
open and adjust bottom stop so that inside of window extends approx. 65 mm beyond the rubber lip on the outer sealing rail.
Screw (arrow) on bottom stop
tighten.
Slider and slot in rear window lift
lubricate with MB lubricating paste, part no. 000 989 31 51.
