Front Door Window Glass: Service and Repair

Preliminary work:
Door liner removed.



























Loudspeaker housing (1)
remove, install.
Door vapor seal (14)
remove, install, replace damaged vapor seal during reassembly.
Retaining rail (2) for door liner and sealing rail on inside of door shaft
remove, install.
Outer panel on front door
remove, install.
Rear rubber grommet on front door panelling
remove, install.
Nut (13) on bottom bearing bracket for rear window guide rail (7)
screw out, screw in (13 mm).
Top screw (arrow) on rear guide rail (7)
screw out, screw in (Torx T30).






















Retainer (5) and closing wedge (6)
remove, install.
Screw (arrow) on window lift rail
screw out, screw in, for this purpose close window until screw (arrow) is accessible through installation opening at bottom (use inner Torx attachment T40).
Crank window (8)
close half way.
Guide rail (7)
unhook on bottom bearing bracket, install; for this purpose pivot guide rail (7) top toward rear, then remove guide rail through installation opening.
Window lift mechanism
move to position for removing and installing window (8), for this purpose move window or window lift mechanism down until 6 teeth on the toothed segment are visible in the installation opening.
Rear window lift arm
remove, hook into window lift rail (arrow).






















Crank window (8)
pivot up at rear and move slider on front window lift arm out of window lift bar
Crank window (8)
remove from door shaft toward rear.
When replacing window
screw off, screw on guide jaws (9 and 10) and stop (11) on window (8); observe installation position!
Threaded plate (12) on window lift rail
remove, when installing secure against moving with friction tape. Observe installation position!






















Window lift mechanism
move to installation position for window (6 teeth on toothed segment visible at bottom).
Crank window (8)
insert from rear into door shaft together with installed guide jaws (9 and 10), while inserting slider for front window lift arm into window lift rail and front guide jaw (10) into guide rail.
Rear window lift arm
screw onto window lift rail (threaded plate 12), (inner Torx attachment T40), do not tighten screw.
Crank window
close half way.
Guide rail (7)
insert through installation opening and into bottom bearing bracket, simultaneously insert into rear guide jaw (9).
Guide rail (7)
fasten at top and bottom.
Crank window (8)
open.
Retainer (5) with closing wedge (6)
install, however, loosen screw for closing wedge.

adjust. Adjustments
Then
install vapor seal, loudspeaker housing, inside sealing rail and door liner.
