SUSPENSION: FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. REPLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
2. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE Removal

3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY

4. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Battery

5. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER

6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL Removal

7. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP Installation

8. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

10. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET Removal

11. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Removal

12. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Removal

13. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM Service and Repair

50. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

51. DISCONNECT SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

52. REMOVE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR AND BRACKET Removal

53. REMOVE NO. 2 FRONT STABILIZER BRACKET RH






(a) Remove the bolt and No. 2 front stabilizer bracket.
54. DISCONNECT HOSES AND CONNECTORS Removal

55. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal

56. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

57. REMOVE NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY Removal

58. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY Removal

59. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY Removal

60. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY Removal

61. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL SHAFT LEVER Removal

62. DISCONNECT FRONT LOWER SHOCK ABSORBER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Removal

63. DISCONNECT FRONT LOWER SHOCK ABSORBER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal

64. REMOVE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY Removal

65. REMOVE FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY Removal

66. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Remove the 2 nuts and front stabilizer link.
HINT: If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a 6 mm hexagon wrench to hold the stud.

67. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Remove the RH side following the same procedures as the LH side.

68. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET LH






(a) Remove the 2 bolts and front No. 1 stabilizer bracket LH from the front frame assembly.
69. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET RH
HINT: Remove the RH side following the same procedures as the LH side.

70. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BAR (w/o Active Stabilizer) Removal

71. REMOVE FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Active Stabilizer) Removal

72. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Remove the 4 bolts and bracket.
73. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY RH






(a) Remove the 4 bolts and bracket.
74. REMOVE POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY






(a) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, 2 washers and power steering link from the front frame.
75. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SUSPENSION LOWER ARM LH






(a) Remove the clip and nut.
(b) Install 2 spacers (SST spacer A) onto the front No. 2 suspension lower arm LH so that there is a space of approximately 1 mm (0.0394 in.) between the arm and spacers.

NOTICE:
- Make sure to install the spacers (SST spacer A) as the steering knuckle spacer may shift.
- As SST may become damaged, make sure the space between the arm and spacers is not less than 1 mm (0.0394 in.).

(c) Using SST, disconnect the front No. 2 suspension lower arm LH from the front lower ball joint assembly LH.

NOTICE:
- Do not damage the dust cover of the No. 2 lower arm.
- As the dust cover may be damaged, adjust SST with the center nut so that the body and claw are parallel.





(d) Put matchmarks on the front suspension toe adjusting cam and front frame assembly.
(e) Put matchmarks on the front suspension No. 2 toe adjusting plate and front frame assembly.






(f) Remove the nut, front suspension No. 2 toe adjusting plate and bolt.
(g) Remove the front suspension toe adjusting cam and the front suspension lower arm LH.
76. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SUSPENSION LOWER ARM RH
HINT: Remove the RH side following the same procedures as the LH side.

77. REMOVE LOWER FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Remove the nut and front shock absorber upper bracket plate, and disconnect the front shock absorber lower bracket from the front suspension lower arm LH.
78. REMOVE LOWER FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Remove the RH side following the same procedures as the LH side.

79. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Put matchmarks on the camber adjusting cam and front frame assembly.
(b) Put matchmarks on the No. 2 camber adjusting cam and front frame assembly.
(c) Remove the nut and No. 2 camber adjusting cam.
(d) Remove the camber adjusting cam and front suspension lower arm LH.
80. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Remove the RH side following the same procedures as the LH side.
