2UR-FSE FUEL: FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER: REMOVAL

REMOVAL
HINT: When viewed from the rear of the engine assembly, Bank 1 is on the left side and Bank 2 is on the right side.

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
(a) Discharge fuel system pressure Service Precautions.
2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY

3. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Battery

4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
- After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

15. REMOVE MOTOR CABLE COVER RH Removal

16. REMOVE INVERTER COVER ASSEMBLY RH Removal

17. REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY Removal

18. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE Removal

19. INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY Installation

21. DISCONNECT MOTOR CABLE Removal

22. DISCONNECT GENERATOR CABLE Removal

23. DISCONNECT INLET INVERTER COOLING PIPE Removal

24. DISCONNECT FRAME WIRE Removal

25. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET Removal

26. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

27. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE Removal

28. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY Removal

29. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY LH Removal

30. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY RH Removal

31. DISCONNECT NO. 1 MOTOR COOLING PIPE Removal

32. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU Removal

33. DISCONNECT NO. 3 RELAY BLOCK Removal

34. DISCONNECT BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR Removal

35. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU BRACKET Removal

36. REMOVE ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE Removal

37. REMOVE ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH






(a) Remove the 4 nuts and engine cover RH.
38. REMOVE NO. 5 COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the No. 5 cover.
39. REMOVE ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Remove the 4 nuts and engine cover LH.
40. REMOVE NO. 6 COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the No. 6 cover.
41. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM ECU COVER Removal

42. REMOVE OUTLET ENGINE ROOM ECM DUCT Removal

43. DISCONNECT HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU Removal

44. DISCONNECT NO. 2 CONNECTOR HOLDER Removal

45. DISCONNECT ECM CONNECTOR Removal

46. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE HARNESS Removal

47. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER Removal

48. REMOVE FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

49. REMOVE ENGINE MOTOR CABLE CLAMP BRACKET Removal

50. REMOVE NO. 3 COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY






(a) Remove the 2 clips and No. 3 cover.
51. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS PIPE HOSE Removal

52. REMOVE PURGE VSV Removal

53. DISCONNECT PCV HOSE Removal

54. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD Removal







55. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE
(a) Lift up the retainer to release its lock.
(b) Pinch the tube connector and then pull out the fuel pipe.
NOTICE:
- Check for any dirt and foreign matter contamination in the pipe and around the connector. Clean if necessary. Foreign matter may damage the O-rings or cause leaks in the seal between the pipe and connector.
- Do not use any tools to separate the pipe and connector.
- Do not forcefully bend or twist the nylon tube.
- Check for any dirt and foreign matter on the pipe seal surface. Clean if necessary.
- Put the pipe and connector ends in plastic bags to prevent damage and dirt contamination.
- If the pipe and connector are stuck together, pinch the tube between your fingers and turn it carefully to free it. Then disconnect the pipe.

56. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER ASSEMBLY






(a) Disconnect the 2 delivery pipe connectors from the delivery pipe.






(b) Disconnect the 3 fuel hoses.






(c) Using SST, remove the 2 fuel pressure pulsation dampers.

(d) Remove the 2 clamp bolts shown in the illustration.
(e) Remove the 2 pulsation dampers, 4 gaskets and No. 1 fuel pipe.
