Warm Up TWC Removal/Installation

FRONT WU-TWC (Bank 2)

1. Remove the engine cover.

2. Remove the No. 2 ignition coil (A) and the ignition coil heat insulator (B).

3. Remove the front A/F sensor (Sensor 1) and front secondary HO2S (Sensor 2).

4. Remove exhaust pipe A; 2WD Service and Repair, 4WD Service and Repair.

5. Remove the EGR pipe Service and Repair.

6. Remove the A/C condenser fan assembly and the radiator upper bracket/cushion.

7. Remove the front WU-TWC bracket (C), then carefully remove the front WU-TWC (D).





8. Remove the converter covers (E).

9. Carefully install the front WU-TWC with a new gasket (F) and new self-locking nuts (G). Tighten the nuts in a crisscross pattern in two or three steps.

10. Install the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal.

REAR WU-TWC (Bank 1)

1. Remove the strut brace.

2. Remove the P/S feed hose clamp mounting bolts.

3. Remove the engine wire harness holder mounting bolts (A).

4. Remove the cowl cover Service and Repair.

5. Remove the No. 4 (B) and No. 5 (C) ignition coils, and the ignition coil heat insulator (D).

6. Remove the rear A/F sensor (Sensor 1) and rear secondary HO2S (Sensor 2).

7. Remove exhaust pipe A; 2WD Service and Repair, 4WD Service and Repair.

8. Remove the rear WU-TWC bracket (E), then carefully remove the rear WU-TWC (F).





9. Remove the converter covers (G).

10. Carefully install the rear WU-TWC with a new gasket (H) and new self-locking nuts (I). Tighten the nuts in a crisscross pattern in two or three steps.

11. Install the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal.
