Installation
INSTALLATION
1. Position axle assembly at mounting bolts.
2. Install pinion mounting bolts (3) and flag nuts (1). Tighten bolts to 108 Nm (80 ft. lbs.).
3. Install frame mounting bolts (2) and tighten bolts to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.).
4. Install half shafts.
5. Install lower ball joint into knuckle and tighten nuts to 183 Nm (135 ft. lbs.).
6. Install shock clevis and bolt on the knuckle and tighten bolts to 190 Nm (140 ft. lbs.).
7. Install toe links and tighten nuts to 51 Nm (38 ft. lbs.).
8. Install stabilizer bar links and tighten nuts to 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.).
9. Install propeller shaft and tighten strap (1) bolts to 38 Nm (28 ft. lbs.).
CAUTION: Replace drive shaft joint straps (1) whenever removed. Straps slightly deform when torqued in place. Reuse of straps may result in reduced clamp load on universal joint cap. Drive shaft strap bolts must be replaced or cleaned and Mopar(R) Lock & Seal Adhesive or equivalent applied.
10. Install exhaust crossover pipe.
NOTE: Illustration shown with rear axle differential removed from vehicle for clarification.
11. If the rear axle differential was drained of lubricant, remove rear axle fill plug (1), fill rear axle with 0.07 L (2.3 oz.) of Mopar(R) Limited Slip Additive and 1.36 L (43.7 oz.) Mopar(R) Synthetic SAE 75W-140 Gear and Axle Lubricant, install fill plug and tighten to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
12. Install the belly pan Belly Pan - Installation.
13. Install tire and wheel assemblies.
