REMOVAL

CAUTION: Remove all gasket material from the rear axle differential housing and differential cover sealing surfaces using a plastic gasket scraper. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to sealing surfaces.





1. Drain rear axle lubricant Service and Repair.
2. Remove rear axle differential and place on a workbench Removal.
3. Remove the nine differential cover bolts (1).
4. Remove differential cover (2) from the differential housing (3).
5. Clean the differential cover and differential housing sealing surfaces using a plastic gasket scraper and Mopar(R) Brake Parts Cleaner or equivalent. Dry with compressed air or wipe dry with clean shop towels. Spray compressed air into all rear cover bolt holes in differential housing to ensure they are clean and free of lubricant and debris.
