Fluid - Differential: Service and Repair






DRAIN AND FILL





1. Drive vehicle until normal operating temperatures are reached.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove the center belly pan Belly Pan - Removal.
4. Remove one of the rear axle drain plugs (1) (or rear axle differential cooler return line fitting, if equipped with differential cooler) and drain the rear axle fluid into a suitable container.
5. Install rear axle drain plug or cooler line fitting and tighten to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).






NOTE: Illustration shown with rear axle differential removed from vehicle for clarification.

6. Remove rear axle fill plug (1) and fill rear axle with 0.07 L (2.3 oz.) of Mopar(R) Limited Slip Additive and 1.36 L (43.7 oz.) Mopar(R) Synthetic SAE 75W-140 Gear and Axle Lubricant.
7. Install fill plug and tighten to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the center belly pan Belly Pan - Installation.
9. Lower vehicle.
