Diagnostic Test

1. CHECK THE BCM FOR DTCS
Ensure hood and decklid are closed.
With the scan tool check the following:
Read the BCM for any ignition switch, door entry switch or key cylinder switch DTC's.
In Inputs/Outputs, check that the hood ajar and trunk ajar switch states display open with the hood and decklid closed.
Were there any problems found?

Yes

- Refer to the Service Information.
- Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Vehicle Theft Security Verification Tests

No

- Inspect the related wiring harness and switches for a possible intermittent condition. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched or partially broken wires.
- Perform VTSS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Vehicle Theft Security Verification Tests.
