Latch Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid

Removal Procedure

1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Lower the endgate.
3. Pull the rear compartment liner back to gain access to the rear compartment lid latch.
4. With a grease pencil or suitable marking device, mark the location of the rear compartment lid latch prior to removal.
5. Release the tension on the latch cable. Refer to Latch Release Cable Adjustment RT/LT - Rear Compartment Lid (Latch Release Cable Adjustment RT/LT - Rear Compartment Lid) .
6. Disconnect the rear compartment lid latch electrical connector, if equipped.




7. Remove the rear compartment lid latch fasteners.




8. Gently pull the rear compartment lid latch away from the vehicle.




9. Disconnect the latch release cable from the rear compartment lid latch.
10. Remove the rear compartment lid latch from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure

1. Insert the rear compartment lid latch electrical connector into the body opening.




2. Connect the latch release cable to the latch.




3. Install the rear compartment lid latch onto the vehicle.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the rear compartment lid latch fasteners. Align the rear compartment lid latch to the marks.

Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

5. Connect the rear compartment lid latch electrical connector, if equipped.
6. Set the latch cable adjustment. Refer to Latch Release Cable Adjustment RT/LT - Rear Compartment Lid (Latch Release Cable Adjustment RT/LT - Rear Compartment Lid) .
7. Put the rear compartment liner back into position.
8. Close the endgate.
9. Close the rear compartment lid.
