Front Door Opening Weatherstrip Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the windshield upper garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement (Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement) in Stationary Windows.
2. Move the front seat to the forward and upright position.
3. Remove the front seat track outer cover screws.
4. Remove the covers.
5. Remove center pillar trim panels. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement) in Interior Trim.
6. Remove the carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement (Carpet Retainer Replacement) in Interior Trim.




7. Remove the I/P sound insulator panel by rotating the clips.




8. Remove the hinge pillar trim panel screws.
9. Remove the hinge pillar trim panel.




10. Grasp the upper inner corner of the opening weatherstrip in order to remove from the flange.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the opening weatherstrip starting at the upper inner corner, while seating to the flange with a rubber mallet.




2. Install the hinge pillar trim panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the hinge pillar trim panel screws.

Tighten the hinge pillar trim panel screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).




4. Install the I/P sound insulator panel by rotating the clips.
5. Install the carpet retainer. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement (Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement) in Interior Trim.
6. Install center pillar trim panels. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement (Carpet Retainer Replacement) in Interior Trim.




7. Install the front seat track covers.
8. Install the front seat track cover screws.

Tighten the front seat track cover screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

9. Move the front seat to the original position.
10. Install the windshield upper garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement (Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement) in Stationary Windows.
