Chart 10 RKE/TD System Will Not Arm
Diagnostic Chart:
Electrical Diagram:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Battery voltage is applied at all times through the I/P concealed fuse. The RCDLR/TDM is armed by using the door lock electrical circuits, provided that the ignition is "OFF," and the door(s) are open when arming. If the disarm circuit is grounded before you attempt to "Arm" the system, the TD portion of the system will not "Arm." The courtesy lamp system must operate normally for the TD system portion to function.
CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Checks for a normal operation of power door locks.
2. Test RKE/TD system for normal operation.
3. Checks RCDLR/TDM for unwanted disarm signal on CKT 262.
4. Test RCDLR/TDM for unwanted "Unlock" input voltage.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
If security indicator never illuminates, perform diagnosis found in Chart 3 first. Chart 3 Courtesy Lamps Do Not Light
Check for loose or poor connections at the RCDLR/TDM connector.
Check for normal operation of the courtesy lamp system. Check for CCM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) 22, 23, 24, and 25. Repair these first. Refer to Lighting and Horns / Courtesy Lamp for any other courtesy light system faults. If CKTs 1561159 is constantly grounded, the "SECURITY SYSTEM" indicator will stay "OFF" after "Arming" and "Disarming" the TD system when using the door lock switches/transmitter. With these circuits grounded, the TD function will never arm, and the courtesy lamps will be "ON" all the time.
