Engine Compartment Lid Lock Cable

Removing

Proceed as follows:

- Remove the engine compartment lid lock cable operating lever => [ Cable Operating Lever ] Cable Operating Lever.

- Remove the sill panel strip.

- Remove the lower A pillar trim.

- Remove rear shelf.

- Remove the left side trim.

- Disengage the engine compartment lid lock cable on the operating lever mounting bracket => [ Operating Lever Mounting Bracket ] Operating Lever Mounting Bracket.

- Unclip the engine compartment lid lock cable - 3 - from the brackets - 2 -.





- Press the cable grommet - 1 - through the hole in the rear bulkhead - arrow -.

- Remove the left engine compartment trim => [ Left and Right Engine Compartment Trim ] Left and Right Engine Compartment Trim.





- Remove the secondary air injection pump.

- Loosen the bolts - arrows - several turns.

- Remove the bolt - 2 - and the bracket - 1 - with the engine control module.

- Move the engine control module with the bracket to the side and secure it against falling down.

• The illustration shows the bracket with the engine removed.

- Remove the engine compartment lid lock => [ Engine Compartment Lid Lock ] Engine Compartment Lid Lock.





- Unclip the engine compartment lid lock cable - 2 - from the brackets - 3 -.

- Open the cable tie - 1 -.

- Remove the engine compartment lid lock cable from the engine compartment.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Install the engine control module with the bracket.

- Install the secondary air injection pump.

- Install the left engine compartment trim => [ Left and Right Engine Compartment Trim ] Left and Right Engine Compartment Trim.

- Install the engine compartment lid lock => [ Engine Compartment Lid Lock ] Engine Compartment Lid Lock.

- Engage the engine compartment lid lock cable on the operating lever mounting bracket => [ Operating Lever Mounting Bracket ] Operating Lever Mounting Bracket.

- Install the left side trim.

- Install rear shelf.

- Install the lower A-pillar trim.

- Install the sill panel strip.

- Install the engine compartment lid lock cable operating lever => [ Cable Operating Lever ] Cable Operating Lever.
