Left and Right Engine Compartment Trim

Removing





Proceed as follows:

• The illustration shows the left engine compartment trim.

- Remove the engine compartment lamp if applicable.

- Loosen the quick-release bolts - arrows -.

- Disengage the bottom of the engine compartment lid gas-filled strut - 2 -.

• While disengaging the engine compartment lid gas-filled strut - 3 - at the lower joint, a second technician must hold the lid securely.





- To do that, raise the retaining spring - 2 - with a small screwdriver - 1 - - arrow - and remove the gas-filled strut from the ball stud.

- Raise the back of the engine compartment trim - 1 - and guide the front of it out at the lid hinge.





Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

• Insert the washers flush in the spring nuts.

• The engine compartment trim must be seated correctly on the side panel or the quick-release bolts cannot lock.
