- Engine running.
- Check the function. Read off the shift angle of the camshaft and the desired shift angle of the camshaft.

Check that the camshaft shift angle corresponds to the desired value for the camshaft shift angle with an accuracy of approximately 8 degrees CA (camshaft angle). The difference between the values can be read off in the lower digital display.

Is the function OK?

YES: Refer to Trouble Code Descriptions. Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions
NO: Refer to Fault-Tracing Information - Permanent Fault.
