Replacing gear selector knob

Removal and Installation

Removing gear selector lever knob




Apply the parking brake.
Shift the gear selector to position N/D.
Remove the boot by turning the circlip 1/4 turn and pulling the boot downwards.




Remove the gear selector knob by jerking it straight up by hand. A strong jerk is required.

Note! The knob cannot be reused.

Installing gear selector knob




- Install the new gear selector lever knob by working and pressing it into position
- Check that the knob has engaged by jerking it straight upwards
- Check that the boot is positioned above the circlip
- Secure the circlip to the gear selector knob by sliding the circlip straight upwards
- Check the that the circlip is fully engaged.
