Transmission cable, adjusting

Preparatory work

Removing the left-hand engine pad
Remove the left-hand engine pad. See: Engine support insulator left Engine Support Insulator Left.

Adjustment

Locking the gear travel




Select third gear with the gear selector lever.

Disconnecting the transmission cable




Lower the engine/transmission slightly.

Remove:
- the ball joint from the gear travel. Use: 999 7077 Jimmy bar 999 7077 Jimmy Bar
- the sleeve for the gear selector cable on the transmission cable bracket.

Adjusting the mechanical transmission cable




Release the lock button for the cable adjuster.





Install:
- the sleeve for the gear selector cable on the cable bracket
- the mechanical cable ball joint on the gear travel.




Check that the springs in the gear selector assembly hold the gear selector lever centered.




Press in the lock button for the cable adjuster.

Finishing

Installing the left-hand engine pad
Raise the engine / transmission and install the left-hand engine pad. See: Engine support insulator left Engine Support Insulator Left.

Check
Check the gear positions.
