Removing the rear windshield

Remove:
- the high level stop lamp. See Replacing the high level stop lamp Replacing The High Level Stop Lamp
- the rubber seal on the inside of the tailgate
- the wiper mechanism. See Tailgate wiper mechanism and motor Tailgate Wiper Mechanism And Motor
- the connector for the seat heating
- the tailgate panel. See Tailgate panel
Remove the rear windshield in the same way as Removing the windshield Service and Repair.

Installing the rear windshield
Check the four spacers on the frame. Replace if necessary.
Apply PUR adhesive. See Installing windshields Service and Repair.
Fold back the cable connectors for the heated rear windshield.
Position the windshield.
Press the window into place by hand.
Secure strips of tape to the window.
Leak test!

Note! Allow the adhesive to cure so that the window does not change position before installing the components.

Install:
- the tailgate panel. See Tailgate panel
- the connector for the seat heating
- the wiper mechanism. See Tailgate wiper mechanism and motor Tailgate Wiper Mechanism And Motor
- the rubber seal on the inside of the tailgate. Check that the rubber strip is released from the window and from electrical components
- the high level stop lamp. See Replacing the high level stop lamp Replacing The High Level Stop Lamp.
