IC (inflatable curtain)

Deployed IC (inflatable curtain)

The following components must be check and replaced where necessary if the SRS system has deployed:
- IC (inflatable curtain)
- Headlining
- The upper panels for the A, B and C-posts.

Preparation




Disconnect the battery lead.
See Battery, disconnecting Battery Disconnecting.

Note! Do not fold or twist the IC (inflatable curtain) during removal or installation. No components may be opened. Do not remove, slacken off or tighten any screws.

Note! The IC (inflatable curtain) module must be handled with both hands, with one hand encompassing the gas generator.

Note! The IC (inflatable curtain) module must be kept level.

Note! Avoid twisting or bending the IC (inflatable curtain) module as much as is possible.

Note! The IC (inflatable curtain) module must be returned if there is any "visible damage".





Note! Do not position or install accessories or any other components in the area marked in the illustration. Failure to observe this instruction may cause the IC (inflatable curtain) to fail.

Removal




First read Preparation.

Note! The hose clamp must not be opened under any circumstances. If the clamp is opened, it will not be possible to guarantee the safety of the joint. Leakage may result which would compromise the function.

Remove:
- The headlining according to Headlining Service and Repair.





Remove:
- the connector according to Igniter wire connector SRS Ignition Cable Igniter Connector.





Remove:
- clips A, B, C and D
- the screw (3). Unhook the inflatable curtain.





Remove:
- clips A, B and C
- the nuts (1) and (2). Lift the inflatable curtain out.





Remove:
- screws 1 and 2 for the deflector
- the deflector.

Installation





Note! If the inflatable curtain module is dropped, it must not be installed.

Install:
- the deflector with screw 1 and 2.

Note! The deflector on the C/D post must be installed before the inflatable curtain module is installed





Install:
- lift in and knock the packaging according to the instructions
- clips A and B.
Remove the packaging by pulling it straight downwards.

Note! Ensure that no bits of paper remain.

Install:
- nuts 1 and 2
- clip C.




Hook on the IC (inflatable curtain). Install screw 3.

Note! It is very important that the hook is correctly installed.

Install clips A, B, C and D.
Tighten all screws. Tighten to 10 Nm.

Install:
- The SRS connector
- The headlining according to Headlining Service and Repair

Caution! When installing the IC (inflatable curtain), part of the decal on the curtain must be ripped off and stuck on the decal in the door opening.
