Sealing ring and piston with O-ring for front servo, replacing

Removal

Preparations




Drain the transmission fluid. Use an oil suction device to drain approximately 6 liters of transmission fluid. Remove the sub-frame. See Sub-frame front, replacing Service and Repair.

Removing the right drive shaft




Angle the wheel hub out. Remove the drive shaft from the hub. Use a tensioner band to pull the wheel spindle and wheel hub backwards. Remove the drive shaft from the transmission. Use jimmy bar 999 5462 Jimmy tool 999 5462 Jimmy Tool.
Install sealing plug 999 7063 Drift 999 7063 Drift.

Disconnecting the steering gear from the engine pad




Mark up the position of the steering gear in relation to the engine pad.
Remove the screw for the steering gear and engine pad. Move the steering gear towards the firewall. Hold it up using tie straps.

Removing the chain housing bracket





Remove:
- the screw in the clamp for the fuel line
- the bracket for the chain housing and engine.

Removing the screws for the bevel gear/chain housing




Slacken off the screws approximately 5 mm. The screw for the bevel gear/bracket on the engine is on top of the bevel gear and can be accessed from the center.
Press out the bevel gear/chain housing towards the screw heads. This is done so that the servo cylinder cover can pass the bevel gear.

Removing the servo cylinder cover




Detach the transmission output speed sensor cable from the tie strap on the transmission. Move the cable to one side.
Wipe and blow the servo cylinder cover clean. Take out a container for the oil. Remove the 3 screws. Pull the cover straight out.

Removing the piston from the transmission




Pull the piston straight out of the transmission.

Replacing the piston with O-ring and sealing ring





Hint: Press the piston against a bench so that the spring clip is easier to remove.

Replace the piston and the O-ring.
Replace the catch.
Replace the sealing ring for the servo cylinder cover.
