Adjusting the keylock cable

Checking and adjusting the cable in the center console




- Select P position. The system is locked when P position is selected. It should not be possible to move the gear selector to another position.
Turn the ignition to position 2. Depress the brake pedal or press the SHIFTLOCK OVERRIDE button.
- Press the SHIFTLOCK OVERRIDE button (A)
- It should now be possible to move the gear selector. Adjust the cable sleeve (B) if the gear selector cannot be moved.

Insert the key in the ignition switch.
Try to remove the key from the ignition switch with the gear selector in all the different gear positions. Do not use more force than is usually required to remove the key.

Note! It should only be possible to remove the key from the ignition switch when the gear selector lever is in P position.

The cable sleeve must be adjusted if the key can be removed from the ignition switch when the gear selector lever is in another position. See Checking and adjusting the cable in the center console.

Install:
- the center console according to Rear center console Rear Center Console
- the lower steering column cover
- the lower dashboard.
